“We don’t take ourselves too seriously” is the claim of the young owner-chef at this modern and lively restaurant in the city’s Chacarita district. The à la carte here features just eight dishes, two of which are desserts, so you only need to order a few to enjoy this family-style dining experience (these dishes are sized the same way as clothes: S, M, L, XL and XXL!). There’s a contagious exuberance in the kitchen where the bold and honest flavours emanate from every corner of the globe. As an example, it was a surprise to find the Korean “tteok” prepared with typical “cacio e pepe” from Central Italy. Another favourite dish, fried chicken, is served with an array of sides, while the “Torrija” brioche provides a delicious finale to proceedings. The large open kitchen stands next to the rustic-style dining room which seems to have been decorated and furnished by a grandmother with help from her grandchildren! The atmosphere here is fun and relaxed and you can’t book ahead, so you’ll need to arrive well before 8pm to guarantee a table.
