This site on the Vatnsnes peninsula is one of the loveliest seal-watching points in Iceland. It is not rare to see dozens of individuals flopped on the black sand, from the other side of the narrow lagoon, or a head emerging from the wate, in search of fish, among the gulls. To get to Ósar, follow the path without venturing to climb the dunes, and in May-June, respect the ducks' breeding zone.
