Much loved by the inhabitants of Adelaide, the Fleurieu Peninsula is fringed with beaches that are ideal for swimming and surfing. Although the first stretches of sand are located on the outskirts of the city, the beaches become emptier and lovelier as you travel further south on the road to Kangaroo Island. Famous for its local cuisine, the Fleurieu Peninsula is also home to McLaren Vale, one of the oldest vineyards in the country.
