Housed in the 18C Palacio de Nájera, boasting an impressive watchtower and some lovely artesonado ceilings, Antequara's municipal museum has been extended with two annexes. Its remarkable archaeological collection includes the Ephebus of Antequera, a superb bronze sculpture from the Roman period (1C), as well as 17C and 18C paintings and liturgical pieces. Exhibitions are also dedicated to local artists José María Fernández (1881-1947) and Cristóbal Toral (b 1940).
