Join the locals and head up to the Boeng Yeak Lom for a swim. This crater lake (diameter 800m/2600ft and 50m/160ft deep) was formed over 700 000 years ago in the crater of a volcano and is crowned by a lush forest that is reflected in its pristine waters. Do be careful though, the beautiful site is still considered sacred by the Tampoun minority that lives in the region; they believe that a powerful genie lurks beneath its waters...
