Just next to the Bastogne War Museum is the Mardasson Memorial, a monument honouring the American soldiers who died in the Battle of the Bulge. Shaped like a five-pointed star, with a viewing table at each point indicating the main phases of the battle. The names of the various battalions and an account of the battle are engraved on the monument. From the terrace at the top, there is a panoramic view of Bastogne and the surrounding area. The crypt was decorated by Fernand Léger.
