Located to the south of the city, this verdant residential district was the seat of the embassies and ministries. The walk along the Rhine, where you will find the landing stages of the excursion boats, is very frequented. The intense river activity animates the countryside dominated by the ruin of Drachenfels. On a spur of basalt located in the centre of the city you will see the ruins of Godesburg. This 13C chateau offers a lovely panorama over Bonn as far as Cologne.
