Antique shops, art galleries and coffee shops line the main shopping thoroughfare of Beacon Hill. At the corner of Mount Vernon Street stands the Charles Street Meeting House (c.1807). This church was the meeting-place of abolitionists William Lloyd Garrison and Sojourner Truth; it was converted into offices during the 1980s and is now home to a busy cafe and shops.
