You will see some fine half-timbered houses on Place St Vincent, in the rue aux Fèvres or rue St-Georges. At no 8 rue des Tonneliers is Hôtel Noirot, built in 1710 for the former mayor of Chalon, and, at no 5, Hôtel Chiquet, where Napoleon I, then pope Pius VII lived. At no 37 rue du Châtelet, the Maison des Quatre Saisons has a fine façade with bas-reliefs, medallions and gargoyles.
