On the long string of pyramids trailing from Cairo to El Fayum, Dashur appears like a wondrous treasure trove. This archaeological site in the middle of the desert, which opened to the public in 1996, impresses visitors with its beauty and serenity. Dashur has far fewer visitors than Saqqara and Giza, despite being home to the superb Red Pyramid and Bent Pyramid, two fascinating Palaeolithic gems.
