Bürgenstock refers to a heavy, forested spine of rock, on which a hotel resort has been built above Lake Lucerne, perched at 500m. The classic walk is the Felsenweg itinerary (approximately 30min): this corniche path forms a panoramic circuit around the spur of Hammetschwand. A lift, caged in a metal shaft, takes you to the top (1 128m).
