Verdant Emirgan Park, on the European shore, with its spring waters and stunning tulip gardens, is a great hit with the locals. Don't miss the tulip festival (April), which is a riot of colour. The Baroque mosque overlooking the large square dates from the 18C. Nearby is Sakip Sabanci Museum, famous for its exhibitions.
