Balos Lagoon is accessible by boat from Kastelli commercial port, or by track suitable for vehicles (8km) then a footpath (2km). After a few minutes' walk on the footpath, the site appears at the foot of the hill, facing the island where Gramvousa Fortress stands. The emerald waters are caught in a lagoon of white sand, between the peninsula and Tigani peninsula.
