Built in 2004 by architect Ando Tadao, this imposing concrete edifice on the seafront is home to magnificent collection of 20C Japanese and international art. Sculptures by Moore, Giacometti, Arp, Brancusi, Rodin, Zadkine; paintings by Goya, Manet, Picasso, Kandinsky, Klinger, Warhol and two renowned Japanese artists, Koiso Ryohei and Kanayama Heizo. The museum also stages temporary exhibitions which make it possible to discover interesting contemporary Japanese artists.
