The road climbs up the bare slopes of a valley grazed by hill sheep. From Wrynose Pass (390m), stop and admire the view down to Little Langdale. The road then runs parallel with the River Duddon from Wrynose Bottom as far as Hardknott Pass. It is well worth stopping to enjoy the wild splendour of the landscape here.
