The Royal City of Loches, encircled by ramparts, is home to two substantial landmarks. To the south stands an immense keep, built by Fulk Nerra in the 11C. To the north lies the Royal lodge where Joan of Arc met the future King Charles VII in May 1429. Between the two lie a handsome 15C house and of course the St-Ours collegiate church.
