On the hill to the west of the town you can make out the two Shan chedis of the Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, built in 1860 and 1874 respectively. To the rear of the wat, admire a standing Buddha, its slender silhouette rising gracefully towards the sky, and two imposing stone lions guarding the Burmese-style wihan. The complex enjoys magnificent panoramic views of the valley and town. The Wat Phra Non is nestled at the foot of the Doi Kong Mu.
