Part of the old fortifications, whose massive outline spans the River Seille, the restored Porte des Allemands now houses an exhibition centre. It is named for a 13C Teutonic order of Hospitalier brothers. Two round towers with slate, pepper pot-style roofs crown the building on the city side, while two large mid-15C crenellated towers face the countryside. They are linked by a gallery, remodelled in the 19C.
