All along the bay of Milos are sheltered beaches: Achivadolimni is good for water sports; to the northwest of Plaka, is Plathiena, one of the best beaches on the island. Near Kapros, on the north coast, is the magnificent Papafragas cove, a narrow creek enclosed by a stone arch. To the east of Pollonia are some lovely sandy beaches, including Pisso Thalassa). The south coast beaches are also worth a visit: Paliohori, Kiriaki, Gerontas and Kleftiko (reached by caïque from Kipos).
