This trek in the Cordillera Blanca is aimed at experienced hikers who are prepared to devote three days to the walk and take on the services of a guide. From Pitec a path climbs up the long and deep Quebrada Quilcayhuanca, which heads between the Churup and San Juan Mountains (6hr). On the second day, you climb up to the Huapi Pass (5 000m) then back down to the Quebrada Cojup (6hr), with the massif of Nevado Ranrapalca (6 162m) looming to the right. On the third day, you make the descent towards Llupa (7hr of walking).
