The buildings (16C and 17C) of the hospital occupy the southern extremity of the plateau known as the "peak of the cap". There are some fine works of art in the Gothic chapel, and, in the middle of the courtyard, the Hegereiterhaus, a graceful pavilion with pointed roofs and turrets. The Kalkturm viewpoint commands a lovely view of the town and leads to the parapet walk.
