The granite range of Boutières, a land of water and mountains, is famous for its excursions, whether on foot or by car, and wealth of picturesque viewing points. To the south of St-Agrève and north of the Regional Park of the Monts d'Ardèche, this dark, austere land is depicted by steep mountain slopes covered in sweet chestnuts. The landscape is also famous for its terraced crops, whose low stone walls have been tended by generations of inhabitants.
