Located on the campus of little Sheldon Jackson College, this is where author James Michener lived from 1984-86 while researching his novel Alaska. The four major native American groups - Tlingit, Athabascan, Aleuts and Eskimos - are all featured here. Bentwood baskets, ivory tools, painted drums and other artfully executed pieces show a remarkable adaptation to a demanding environment.
