Emerald Bay State Park frames the magnificent Emerald Bay, deep and almost closed, and named after the colour of its waters. This famous site, on the shore of Lake Tahoe, has served as a location in many films (Bodyguard, The Godfather 2). Before taking you there, the road skirts little Cascade Lake, then comes to Inspiration Point, which offers a magnificent view over the bay; it then leads to the edge of Vikingsholm, an unusual castle with Scandinavian architecture.
