Tolosa's historic quarter is enclosed to the south by the Plaza del Triángulo, to the east by the River Oria, and to the west by the Calle Rondilla, which follows the course of a former tributary of the river. The town is at its liveliest on market day on Saturdays, in particular in the indoor market. In contrast to its Baroque exterior (1761), the interior of the Iglesia de Santa María is designed in the Basque Gothic style.
