This is the new name for the upper part of the rue Nationale where it starts at Pont Wilson. Tours is reconnecting with its past, as this gateway was the main route for entering the city in the 18C, following the construction of the bridge (1765-1779) that linked the two banks of the River Loire. A new area covering more than 11,000m² is gradually emerging. On the 15km of tramway lines that crosses the city from north to south, nearly 40ha of public space have been reconfigured and redesigned by Daniel Buren.
