The Vizzavona Forest, which extends from Mt d'Oro (2,389m/7,838ft) to the Col de Palmente, is one of the most beautiful forests in Corsica: miles of pathways and forest roads wind through the European Black Pines and beeches. A half-way halt on the GR 20, this forest is well-known among hikers. You will probably be surprised to stumble across a railway station so tiny, that you expect to see a miniature railway trundle past.
