Just before Wych Cross, three reconstructed barns with thatched roofs house the Ashdown Forest Centre, which gives an overview of the region's natural history. The heart of the Weald located on a vast sandy plateau is made up of heaths, pine groves and birch trees. The convenient car parks and picnic areas mean that visitors can enjoy pretty views and explore the countryside on foot.
