Extending across the western slopes of the Carpathian Mountains, the protected area of the White Carpathians is now a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. This picturesque region is home to rolling hills, a mosaic of woodland, and meadows dotted with orchids and orchards. More than 250 fruit varieties are grown here, which add flavour to the numerous pear and prune brandies made in the region - all to be enjoyed in moderation, of course!
