Known to locals since time immemorial, this waterfall came into the spotlight in March 2006, when a group of explorers established its topographic dimensions. At 771m high (in two sections of 231m and 540m), it joined the ranks of the largest waterfalls in the world. The site is magnificently beautiful, with waters hurtling down the rock face, as plumes of sea spray escape, against a backdrop of jungle that calls to mind a landscape of the beginning of time.
