The Thanes of Cawdor built and lived in this castle as of the 14C. However, Cawdor Castle underwent numerous subsequent additions and various transformations. From the drawbridge, you can take in the 14C central tower and the 17C wings to the right. There are three gardens: the Walled Garden, serving as a kitchen garden, the Wild Garden with a diverse mix of species of trees of all origins, and the Flower Garden, which reveals all its splendour in early spring or late summer.
