Choeng Mon, at the north-eastern tip of Ko Samui, has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday, particularly if you're travelling with children. As is so often the case in Thailand, the setting here is quite magnificent: the protected beach is occasionally lapped by tiny waves and a small island is visible nearby. Arriving from Bo Phut, you'll pass the local star attraction: a 15m-high golden Buddha.
