Standing alongside the River Charente, this Valois family château, the birthplace of François I, is now home to the Otard winery. Here visitors can admire the Salle du Casque, which owes its name to the decor of a helmet on the monumental fireplace, and the superb Renaissance-style Salles des États dating from 1517.
