The cable car provides an easy way to enjoy something of the beauty of Cairn Gorm. From the station at the top (1 100m altitude, exhibition, restaurant), there is a grandiose view westwards over the Spey Valley, which widens into a basin between Loch Morlich and Aviemore. Those who choose to climb up on foot can take the final 150m to the summit of Cairn Gorm (1 245m), from which there is a magnificent panoramic view in every direction, reaching well beyond the Cairngorms.
