The largest of the San Juan Islands forms a horseshoe, surrounding the charming East Sound Bay. From its low mountains covered with forests, one can enjoy lovely panoramic views of the archipelago, the waterfalls and Olympic Ranges, the Canadian coast and Vancouver Island. More than 2 000ha are protected by the Moran State Park, which encompasses five lakes, numerous waterfalls and a multitude of hiking trails.
