From the 17C to the 19C, cloth factories were the pride of Elbeuf. Little remains of the old city, made up of Place St Jean and the Puchot quarter. However, the truncated chimney stack (19C) of the half-timbered Clarenson factory can still be seen on Place de la République. The Louvet (18C) and Houiller factories are located on Rue de la République; the Grandin and Godet factories are on Rue Guynemer. Don't miss the Jardins de la Source (gardens).
