This fascinating museum charts the decisive years that saw Poland evolve from a communist regime to democracy. Its steel architecture pays tribute to the neighbouring dockyards. A multimedia exhibition tells the story of the trade union Solidarnosc, which triggered the famous strike on 14 August 1980. On leaving the complex, head for door n°2 of the dockyards. On the right is the red-brick building inside of which the Gdańsk agreement was signed on 31 August 1980 in the BHP Hall.
