In 1968, the old docks were converted into a marina with luxury apartments and shopping arcades developed in the surrounding area. New buildings have been added around the dock. To the east is a centre for international trade, the World Trade Centre, and to the north, a futures market in commodities (cocoa, coffee, sugar, pork offal...), the London Commodity Exchange and a commodity market for oil products, the International Petrol Exchange.
