Here, visitors can witness all four of Yellowstone's hydrothermal phenomena. A circular boardwalk leads you among colourful bacterial and algae mats, hot springs and the "paint pots", the colourful bubbling pools after which the site is named. Adults as well as children find this geological site entertaining, with its noisy springs emitting a strong smell of hydrogen sulphide.
