The little agricultural city of Maser is proud of its famous villa built in 1560 by Palladio for the Barbaro brothers, Daniele, Patriarch of Aquileia, and Marcantonio, ambassador of the Republic of Venice. The interior was decorated between 1566 and 1568 with an admirable series of frescoes by Veronese, who drew on all the resources of the science of perspectives, trompe-l'oeil and foreshortening, as well as his sense of movement and colours.
