In a landscaped park overlooking Lake Geneva, this 1730s French-style château houses the Swiss National Museum, chronicling the nation's history during the 18C and 19C. The ground floor is devoted to Le Rêve des Lumières, while the first-floor to La Suisse en movement (1750-1920,) which spans the French Revolution to the birth of the Federal state. The cellars cover the pre-industrial economy of the Ancien Régime, while the top floor examines Switzerland from the perspective of immigration, emigration and tourism.
