This cobbled street makes up a sublime Gothic ensemble (15C), lined by the inns of the various nationalities of the Order of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem (French, Spanish, Italian, English and German), austere buildings with smooth walls protected by arcades. Retracing an Ancient road, its perfect linearity is a far cry from the winding maze of the town. The façade of the Inn of France, the finest of them all, is the jewel in Ipoton's crown.
