The Causse de Sauveterre belvedere, one of the highlights of the Gorges du Tarn, is aptly named. From here, the panorama takes in the Tarn gorge, from the narrow ravines to the Pas de Soucy and the Roche Aiguille. At the foot of the modest plateau overlooking the Tarn from an altitude of 400m is the magnificent cirque des Baumes, a group of huge limestone rockfaces.
