The chateau of Champ de Bataille, built by Alexandre de Créqui in the 17C, was home to the Harcourt family before it was plundered in 1795. In the 20C, it was successively a hospital, a prisoner-of-war camp and a women's prison. Today its former splendour has been restored. Superbly appointed, its rooms showcase the splendid furniture and art collections of its owner, interior architect Jacques Garcia, while outdoors an immaculate formal garden surrounds the palace.
