Blue Heron Drive practically encircles the centre of Prince Edward Island. On the way, it hugs the immaculate white beaches of the north coast, going through charming little Acadian fishing villages and beautiful countryside, evocative of Anne of Green Gables. The road ends along the red sandstone coast of the south seaboard, washed by the Northumberland strait.
